OVERVIEW OF QUICK TIPS ON WINNING IN LIFE LIFE SKILLS FIELD TRIP PROGRAM

Here is a brief overview of RWC’s weekend for elementary and middle school students at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. RWC’s other Field Trip Programs, such as the one begun at the National Hot Rod Association’s Finals, will intended to be similar in nature:

Racers Who Care’s annual Quick Tips on Winning in Life Life Skills Field Trip Program for hundreds of area elementary school students consist of racer Quick Tips on Winning in Life Life Skills Presentations presented by racers based on their own career experiences. During Paddock, or Pit, Tours students observe teams at work on their racing machines and see the Quick Tips they just heard about being enacted in real life.

Basically, at Long Beach, nearly every two hours during race weekend from Friday morning until about noon on Sunday, RWC hosts different groups of students. They hear racer presentations about the importance of learning teamwork, study, taking the long view, finding mentors, and take tours of the Grand Prix’s Expo area inside the Long Beach Convention Center.

These field trips are free of charge to the schools and kids’ groups who bring students out to the Grand Prix and the racers donate their time. The Program is entirely staffed by volunteers, some who work throughout the weekend.

The Field Trip Program conducted in association with the NHRA/U.S. Army Career Day Program, includes the Career Day presentation, an opportunity to watch on track activity, a tour through the Pit area, meeting with one or more racer(s) and their team(s), and a Racer Quick Tips on Winning in Life Presentation.

Racers Who Care plans to expand the Quick Tips on Winning in Life Life Skills Field Trip Program to other racing venues over time.
